Clearly, to be human offers us certain freedoms. This isn't a freedom from our basic conditions, but a freedom to take a stand or react to our conditions. The time may come when we're forced to learn we're capable of finding the courage to face even the most uncomfortable or inconceviable conditions possible. For example, if you lived through an environmental disaster, or widespread drought where food became scarce, fasting wouldn't necessarily be a choice. It would become forced reality. You may not choose to think of it, but your empty tummy may remind you.
